My husband says he likes this outfit because it is, "very holey" (meaning the sweater and the tights).

First off i just have to get this out: I am SO EXCITED to own this UNIF jacket! I've seen it on various websites and loved the style but it sells for like $200 so it's not something i even remotely considered would ever be in my closet...

So imagine my surprise when stacking together sales + coupon codes + a gift card i only paid $30 for it! Mwahahahhahahahahaha! I am the BEST BARGAINISTA IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding. I'm not. I'm pretty sure that title goes to Heather. ;)

Ok. Celebration over.

So i wore this outfit today to do some last minute Christmas shopping at the Mall of America. If there's one thing i've learned about the MOA after living in Minnesota for 5 years it's that the mall is insanely hot in the winter time. I can't even tell you how many times i've gone there dressed for winter like a normal person only to leave feeling extremely grumpy and sweaty.

So with that in mind I put together a more fall type outfit and then threw a winter coat over it for the parking garage to mall trek. Mission successful, I did not leave a sweaty mess!

I had also planned on seeing The Hobbit today but very sadly ended up running out of time. Anger! Depression! So far i've been hearing negative reviews from the critics but very positive reviews from my friends. I trust my friends opinions a lot more. Hopefully i'll get to see it soon!

  4. Hey Nicole :) First I just want to say thank you for your comment! :) It was so nice to someone in the same boat as me this December. It's funny that you mentioned going to the gym to break the habit of staying in all day because I recently did the exact same thing! I did my first spin class a few days ago actually - and im still sore :|. Anyway, it's too bad you didn't get to see the Hobbit! Hopefully you get the chance soon.

I really love your blog and your outfits! Definitely going to follow :)
    Have a lovely holiday

  6. Haha. I love your "very holey" outfit, too! Man, I saw those boots once at my Target: one pair sitting by themselves, in a much too small size. Waahhh! Although it's for the best. I may have a shopping addiction all around, but dang, the shoes be out of control. Suckers take up too much room! There's only so many rooms in a house you can deem a "closet." :P

Woohoo for the UNIF find! If I'm the best bargainista, it's safe to crown you runner-up. Let us bask in our thrifty good ways!

  9. Hahaha I love boy language, "holey". One time my boyfriend was watching me put on my makeup and he went "what's that black gunk you put on your lashes?"....mascara? So cute haha. And woaaaahh AWESOME coupon clipping there, hats off to you. I love when you're patient enough for the right deals to come along. That was owning that piece is that much sweeter ;) And I love all the layering in this outfit, it's such a creative look and flows together perfectlyyyy.
