It's been freezing cold out lately (literally) and i refuse to stand outside in single digit temperatures or worse. Thus here's a post about what i'm digging lately from the wonders of indoor heating!
(from left to right, top to bottom)
1. DeVotchKa (honestly i've been listening to all the albums): These guys make beautiful music. They recently put on a show on New Year's Eve in my hometown, Anchorage, Alaska and i was green with envy at my friends who got to be there.
2. Father John Misty: I feel like i've been listening to the "Fear Fun" album a good majority of 2012. A little different from what i'm usually into. I fell in love with, "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" and then, "Nancy From Now On" and the rest was history i guess.
3. Alt-J: I think this is a band that you will either love or hate. A very unique sound, a lot of times you can't understand a thing they're saying. If they do a show in Minnesota i will be for sure trying to get my hands on some tickets.
4. Grimes: I've been listening to Grimes for a long time also, but i'm still listening. The song, "Be a Body" is my favorites from this album.
Television wise Netflix has finally put Season 2 of Portlandia on Instant Watch and i instantly devoured it. This is my favorite clip from Season 2. I identify with it so completely (is that scary?!).
And if that peaks your interest definitely YouTube, "Around the World in 80 Plates". My second favorite skit (cheese boats are dope.).
As far as books go i just started, Fire by Kristin Cashore. Which is the 2nd book in a series. To be honest i thought the first book was just ok but i know sometimes first installments of series can be a little rough so i'm not giving up on it quite yet.
And that's a bit of what i've been up to entertainment wise! I hope you all had a great New Year!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm freezing cold too! How do people live like this?! I almost forgot! (I'm visiting in-laws in Ohio.) Hope you had a great New Year! -Jessica L
ReplyDeleteI currently have the season 3 premiere of Portlandia on in the background, so I automatically love you. That and just scrolling through your blog I can tell that I love your style. Definitely a new follower here!
